What I Learned
In this unit of Big IDEA I learned a lot more about inventor and 3D modeling as well as 3D printing. Specifically I learned that it is easy to take a lot of the printing time off by simply removing unnecessary material. I took my printing time from 21 hours down to 15 with a couple small adjustments and I could have take more off. I also learned that 3D printers are slightly inaccurate so you have to add some wiggle room when designing objects with holes or else they will come out too small. A few of the holes in my holders hold the screwdrivers a little tighter than what would be ideal. Overall this unit has taught me to be more careful in my designs, more efficient with my time, and overall better at using the 3D printers. I have thoroughly enjoyed this unit and I am excited to see what comes in the future.
